Taking a look at the Easter Motor Show 2019

The Easter Motor Show is the ideal day out for motoring enthusiasts this Easter weekend, with events taking place across both Easter Sunday and on the bank holiday Easter Monday (April 21st-22nd 2019).

It’s being held at Weston Park near Telford (TF11 8LE is the postcode you’ll need for your satnav) as part of a packed line-up of Easter fun days.

Throughout April 13th-28th, the estate is open to visitors with an Easter trail through the grounds, tours of the stately home, and arts and crafts sessions for children that are included in the standard price of admission.

But on Easter Sunday and Monday the estate becomes a haven for petrolheads as all kinds of motor vehicles descend for the Easter Motor Show.

What’s in the Easter Motor Show?

This classic car show features vehicles registered in 2004 or earlier, along with some newer models that are part of a qualifying motor club.

Exhibits range from vintage to modern classics, motorcycles, and classic commercial vehicles, as well as trade stands and general entertainment, food and drink.

In total over 600 vehicles are expected to take part, ranging from pre-1960s models to sports cars, convertibles and American icons, while the commercial vehicles will have special appeal for enthusiasts of classic vans and trucks.

Just be warned there are no cash machines on site, so make sure you bring plenty of money to get you through the day!

Best in Show

In true motor show fashion, the event culminates in an awards ceremony hosted by commentator and ‘vehicle enthusiast’ Les Clayton, with awards due to be presented in a number of different categories.

They include a group award for Club of the Show, recognition for Pride of Ownership, and the coveted grand title of Car of the Show, along with the commemorative plaque presented to all exhibitors whose vehicles feature in the show weekend.

With specific awards for different age ranges of vehicles too, nobody is left out of contention, so your favourite vintage vehicle or modern classic car could easily drive away with a title of its own.

Getting to Weston Park and admission prices

Tickets to the Easter Motor Show are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children aged 4-16, with a family ticket for two adults and two children priced at £25 (effectively getting one child in for free).

For an extra £3 per adult and £2.50 per child or senior citizen, you can add a tour of the house to your plans for the day, although with plenty to see in the motor show, you might decide to leave this for another visit in the future.

Weston Park is on the A5 just east of Telford and Donnington, at Weston-under-Lizard, and easily reached via the M54 or A41, and from the M6 at Cannock if you’re driving from further away.

As mentioned up top, if you’re following your satnav, the postcode you’ll need to plug in is TF11 8LE, and visitor parking for the Easter Motor Show is free.
